hot sauce for those who love a simple salsa

51 years ago, a close friend of mine
worked as a cook at the del monte
packing plant in oakland, california
he'd been a chef in a NYC mid-town spot

and had a catalogue of delish dishes in
his brain - but, hot sauce was not big
back on the east coast - garlic yeah
but not chili and its thousand blends

one day, the fellow latino workers
complained to my dear friend that
the sauce the other cooks served was bland
nothing like their mamas and wives prepared

so, my friend took pounds of fresh habaneros
added salt and ground them up - "sabrosa!" was the call.

Luke 20:18

Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken;
but on whomsoever it shall fall,
it will grind him to powder.
